Snapper/Torpedo
[edit]This article claimed that TATP was used in "toy fireworks of the 'snapper' or 'torpedo' type" until a BoingBoing reader exposed that as a hoax today. It was changed to claim that this was a "rumor" which was false, or to be precise, it was a rumor started four days ago by a false addition to a Wikipedia article. Far better to simply remove the false claim, IMHO. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JamieMcCarthy (talk • contribs) 13:20, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Tatp
[edit]I really have to question if this has any place on wikipedia. Surely it's the weapon of choice by islamic terrorists. Is there no sense of collective responsibility about the level of detail on this posting? Billy K (talk) 18:42, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
It's not that detailed - certainly one couldn't use the information to make it, and the general form of the reaction and specifics are widely available. This seems to be a pretty straightforward description of its discovery and general chemistry. It could equally be argued that nitroglycerin or TNT shouldn't be listed, both are just as easy to make... Awjlogan (talk) 14:55, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
